Did someone say Chanel?

The Chanel Jacket

Chanel has been, and will always be, my favorite fashion house that I will most likely continue to covet until I the day I die (my dream would actually be to die in Chanel – wouldn’t that be an elegant way to leave?). Regardless, Chanel has marked the fashion world with its glamour and simplistic elegance that will simply never go out of style. From their signature little black dress, to their coveted quilted bags and their opulent jewels, Chanel will remain on any fashionista’s “must have” list for eternity. But for now, our focus will be on The Jacket. Yes, THE Jacket. It is probably one of the most iconic pieces that Lagerfeld reproduces with new twists season after season. The jacket is completely versatile and can be worn so many ways – but the laid-back, chic look is one of my favorites. Pair your favorite Chanel jacket with a pair of light-washed skinny jeans, a relaxed white t-shirt, and your favorite nude pumps and you’re ready for whatever your day may bring. Dress Obsessed

If I haven’t mentioned it before, I’ll mention it now – I am thoroughly obsessed with the site Net-A-Porter and all the wonderful and fabulous fashion designer pickings they have to offer. With new items added to the site every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, my mouth is continuously salivating all week not only with high-anticipation for the site’s newest arrivals, but over the phenomenal clothing that my body begs to be adorned by. So on one of my daily morning peruses through the site, I found the most wondrous sun dress by RED Valentino’s Spring-Summer 2013 collection. This light, silk-organza dress is designed in a feminine silhouette with a gathered tulle skirt that would make any girl want to twirl around in this dress. The charming nautical knot pattern and printed rope border make me fall even more in love with this dress.

Unfortunately, I came to discover that the dress was sold out in my size – my mother was more than thrilled with this discovery – but I thought I would share my vision with you anyway, just in case I do happen to get my hands on this dress that I fell head-over-heels for. The dress is exquisite within itself, so there’s no need to go to crazy with this ensemble – we’re gonna keep it classic. All this dress needs is a stellar pair of red sandals, (and what designer would be better to turn to than the father of the red lacquered soles himself!), an eclectic pair of earrings and a simple clutch. Once again, I went slightly too far into my hallucination – they always tend to leave me slightly dazed - but at least it was a good one!

60 Years of Fabulous

Gucci 60th Anniversary Horsebit Loafer CollectionGucci has forever been known in the fashion-world for its production of fine leather goods. Ranging from shoes to bags, their leather expertise has never disappointed their audience. 2013 marks the 60th anniversary of the Italian house’s iconic horsebit loafer, complete with the signature double ring and bar motif. It’s hard to believe that these moccasins have remained in-style and “cool” for this long and are still a part of every knowledgable fashionista’s coveted shoe list (mine included!). This year also marks the anniversary that Gucci introduced shoes into their collection – there was a time when Gucci didn’t make shoes? What? This life-altering (well, life-altering in the fashion world at least…) occasion could not go unnoticed, so I present to you Gucci’s birthday celebration collection. Still made with high-quality craftsmanship and design, the “re-invented” loafers will be available in bright, patent-leather hues including orange, coral, yellow, green and pink. With Spring hopefully just around the corner, it will be perfect timing to adorn this immortal shoe in your favorite vivid shade.

Betty or Veronica?

Archie's Girls MAC Cosmetics Spring 2013 CollectionAs a devoted MAC Cosmetic queen, I couldn’t go through the week without mentioning their new amazing line. When I was seven, I used to read the witty Betty and Veronica comics and became entangled myself in the love triangle between the blonde, the brunette and the red-head that this collection is so aptly named after – Archie. The Archie’s Girls collection has two different “moods”, if you will – one being the soft and sweet side of Betty while the other is the demure and mysterious side of Veronica. Betty’s collection captures the “girl-next-door” persona with peachy-pink lipstick shades that will give one an innocently sexy glow. However, the deep violets, reds and plums of Veronica’s collection could hypnotize anyone with these dangerously seductive tones.

Archie's Girls MAC Cosmetics Spring 2013 CollectionAs always, I have my favorites from the collection that I simply ogle over and covet until I can finally swipe my new “it” lipglass over my lips or powder my cheeks with what I think is the next fabulous blush. So, you ask, the items I couldn’t live without? Every girl could benefit from Betty’s Lipglass in Summer Sweetheart. This soft peach color will give you a sweet-as-pie complexion. By now, everyone knows how much of a fan I am of red lipstick, and Ronnie Red is another one that makes it on the list. Use it alone for a bold statement, or pair the Strawberry Malt lipglass on top for a more tempting look. And no guise is complete without a light dusting of blush – powder some of Betty’s Flatter Me Pearlmatte Face Powder over your cheeks, and even a little dab on your nose and forehead for an overall dewy look. For me, Betty has always been the apple of Archie’s eye, but the real question is, who’s collection will you choose?

Slumber Party

Let’s be honest, don’t you have those days when you just want to stay in your pajamas all day? They’re warm, cozy and can even be occasionally fashionable – who wouldn’t want to wear them in public? Now before you get any ideas, I am by no means telling you to go out on the town in full pajama attire – but here are two chic and totally socially acceptable looks. You can take this trend two different ways – you can go for the complete silk set or just pair either the top with jeans or the bottoms with a structured button-down.

Pajama DressingFor the complete silky set, pair a printed, button-down shirt with silk pants in a contrasting color to give it a pop, and so it doesn’t look like you are truly wearing a pajama set. Next, add on a bold pair of pumps and a tailored blazer – a swipe of bright lipstick probably wouldn’t hurt either (like this fabulous coral color). This head-to-toe look will make a big impact at your next event, and is a stylish alternative to the typical structured suit.

Pajama DressingIf you’re not feeling the entire pajama get-up, you can go for a much more casual look by still pairing a silk, patterned, button-down shirt with loose-fitting boyfriend jeans. Instead of doing a bold heel with this look, go for an edgy pair of loafers as a contrast for the soft, silky top. Lastly, grab a pair of big colorful shades, and you’re ready for any upscale pajama party.

Off-Duty Chic

Off Duty Chic OutfitWith the dreary weather we’ve been having on the East Coast, its been very difficult for me to feel inspired to dress up in my usual stylish attire. Don’t worry – I haven’t slipped into the leggings and Ugg look – but I have come up with an alternative style that will keep you prepared for the cold, rainy weather, while still looking fabulously put-together. This look is all about seeming effortlessly cool, without making it look like you tried too hard to put this outfit together. Start out with your favorite pair or dark skinny jeans, and add on a fun flowy top. Next, you’ll need to dress up the look a little bit with a great piece of statement jewelry, like this chain necklace from Kenneth Jay Lane. Finish off this easy style with a big, comfy parka and a cool pair of short leather ankle boots. This outfit will keep you looking chic all day, even if you’re “off-duty”.

Rachel Zoe 2013 Resort Collection

Rachel Zoe Cutout Back DressBananas and OOC wouldn’t be enough Zoe-isms to describe the new designer’s 2013 Resort Collection. The collection includes typical chic suits that are both tailored and sophisticated – making any go-getter ready for the work day. But besides Zoe’s signature look, fun pieces are dabbled throughout the collection, including this gorgeous blue ruffle dress. Accompany this fun-loving dress with a stellar pair of gold heels and a great pair of hoops to match. Not only is the structure of this dress exquisite, but the bright color and the intriguing pattern are enough to make me just die over this dress. Whether you’re going out with friends or to a fancy party, you’re sure to be a show-stopper in this dress.

Rachel Zoe 'Abigail' Drawstring Back SweaterOther fun items that are a stand-out from this warm-weather collection are the drawstring sweater and the dot jacquard skirt. This seafoam green sweater would look great paired with white jeans and an awesome pair of wedges. This is going to be your favorite spring-Rachel Zoe 'Jacquelyn' Dot Jacquard Skirttime outfit – but until we get into those warmer spring months, the black and white jacquard print skirt will keep you warm while looking stylish in those brisk months still to come. Pair this skirt with a form fitting black turtleneck, black stockings, and a fabulous pair of black riding boots. This warm weather look will keep you looking chic all day long. Now, what couldn’t be mah-jor about any of those outfits?
